Obligations of service providers
Hosting service providers that enable users to publish content (e.g., photos, videos, posts) have specific obligations under the DSA. These include responding to illegal content, ensuring transparency of operations, and protecting users.
Very large online platforms and search engines with more than 45 million monthly users in the EU have extended obligations in terms of systemic risk analysis, transparency, and user protection. The DSA imposes an additional, special supervisory regime on them.
