Digital Services Coordinator - UKE

The Digital Services Coordinator (DSC) is the national authority responsible for supervising compliance with the DSA. The DSC operates at the national level but cooperates with other EU countries and the European Commission as part of a single supervisory system across the Union.

Each EU Member State is required to designate such an authority.

In Poland, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications has been temporarily appointed as the Digital Services Coordinator on the basis of a resolution of the Council of Ministers of May 13, 2025 (Council of Ministers resolution).

The role of the President of the UKE is currently limited to the scope specified by the Council of Ministers. The President of the UKE is authorized to:

  1. receive information on European Commission decisions concerning the largest internet platforms and search engines (Article 33(6)),
  2. cooperate in the development of guidelines on systemic risk management (Article 35(3)),
  3. participate in the information exchange system between digital services coordinators and the European Commission (Article 57(1)),
  4. participate in the work of the European Digital Services Board (Article 62(1)),
  5. cooperating with digital services coordinators and the European Commission in developing expertise (Article 64),
  6. being informed about the actions taken by the European Commission in relation to VLOPs and VLOSEs (Article 75(3)).
