What is the Digital Services Act?

The Digital Services Act is an EU regulation that came into force across the European Union on February 17, 2024. Its aim is to create a safe and transparent online environment for all users, both individuals and businesses.

In order to effectively implement and enforce the provisions of the DSA, the European Commission is coordinating the establishment of a European supervisory network comprising the relevant EU institutions, national regulatory authorities, and independent experts in the field of digital services.

This cooperation system is designed to support both the Commission and national digital services coordinators (DSCs) in conducting effective supervision, monitoring compliance with the regulation, and taking enforcement action against entities that violate the DSA.

At the Polish level, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications has been appointed as the coordinator for digital services.
