Invitation to participate in a Workshop on assessment of the cost of providing FTR services

Invitation to participate in a Technical Workshop on assessment of the cost of providing fixed voice call termination in the EU/EEA countries.

A technical workshop will be organized on 23 October 2018 in Brussel by the European Commission on assessment of the cost of providing fixed voice call termination in the EU/EEA countries. The workshop is directed at experts involved in fixed voice call termination cost modelling.

The aim of the Workshop is to explain and discuss how the cost model estimating the cost of providing fixed voice call termination services in the EU is going to be developed and to gather stakeholder’s views. The developed cost model will constitute the basis to assess the costs of fixed voice call termination by the Commission in its decision on the Eurorate for fixed call termination services.

Axon Partners Group Consulting has been selected to assist the Commission in the task of assessing the efficiently incurred costs of providing fixed voice call termination services. The objective of the workshop is to present the timetable for the study as well as the technical proposals for the bottom-up cost model to estimate the efficient costs of providing fixed voice call termination services by fixed network operators in the EEA. The study will inform the Commission's proposed delegated act setting a single maximum EU-wide fixed voice call termination rate.

The workshop will be attended by representatives from National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs), BEREC, EU trade associations and telecoms operators.

The event will take place on Tuesday 23 October 2018 in the AUDIT conference room in Rue de la Loi 102 in Brussels from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

The draft agenda of the workshop is attached.

Please register in the Workshop’s “Event in a box” website. Registration will close on FRIDAY 12 OCTOBER 2018 at 5pm.

For those unable to attend, the event will be publicly streamed live and interested parties will be able to participate through videoconferencing.
