President of UKE, Przemysław Kuna is attending the UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance, taking place in Geneva on July 6 – 7, 2026. Established by the UN General Assembly, the Global Dialogue serves as a platform for discussing issues related to international cooperation, the exchange of best practices, and the sharing of views on AI governance. A total number of nearly 4,000 stakeholders are taking part in this event – including representatives from public administrations, the business sector, international and non-governmental organizations, the scientific and technical communities, and universities.

On July 6, the Dialogue was opened by the address from the UN Secretary-General (SG), Antonio Guterres and ITU Secretary-General (SG), Doreen Bogdan-Martin. “The question is no longer whether AI will transform our world – it already is. The question is whether we will govern this transformation together – or let it govern us.” – emphasized the UN SG. He also drew attention to the unprecedented pace of AI development. “This week, the UN bodies and institutions will debate how to put humanity at the centre of the next ground-breaking technology – perhaps the most significant one yet.” – noted the ITU Secretary-General, referring to the UN Global Dialogue, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, and the AI for Good Summit taking place this week in Geneva as part of the so-called Digital Week.

The Polish delegation, headed by Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Affairs, and Government Plenipotentiary for Cybersecurity, participated in the UN Dialogue. In his remarks during the high-level opening session, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that AI, as part of an integrated system linking scientific research, public administration, and society, must be human-centred and safe in its practical implementation.
